The Dr. Phill Hot Sauce Mom

Gut vuch,

…and a wonderful Saturday night to whomever is reading cause you accidently stumbled upon this while google-ing something else, feel free to stick around it gets good.

First of all, I spent some time reading old posts and it seems I have unsuccessfully attempted to revitalize this blog many times. Therefore I have decided to commit to a post a day. I’m not promising they will be any good. But I will post at least once a day, or try till my upcoming birthday. Then, we shall see what happens.

With so much going on in the world, I feel Its my obligation to share my opinion.

Now, we get to tonights post.

I ask, does this Dr. Phill Mom (Jessica) deserve the ridicule she’s getting?

Come on, my parents used to spank us for less. She is obviously at the end of her ropes and came to him for help. Which means she comprehends that she’s incapable of disciplining that kid. Hot sauce… child abuse? Really? My friends mom used to literally wash her mouth out with soap when she cursed or lied.

The kid lied about throwing pencils at other kids, would you rather she did nothing and he stabbed your kid in the eye with it?

Get over it America… I’m not condoning her behavior in any way, yet I don’t think its anyone’s place to judge her.

Just a handful of those helping to raise awareness of why child "spanking" isn't a good idea:

American Academy of Pediatrics,
American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,
American Psychological Association,
Center For Effective Discipline,
Churches' Network For Non-Violence,
United Methodist Church
Nobel Peace Prize recipient Archbishop Desmond Tutu,
Parenting In Jesus' Footsteps,
Global Initiative To End All Corporal Punishment of Children,
United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.

In 31 nations, child corporal punishment is prohibited by law (with more in process). In fact, the US was the only UN member that did not ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The US also has the highest incarceration rate in the world.

The US states with the highest crime rates and the poorest academic performance are also the ones with the highest rates of child corporal punishment.

There is simply no evidence to suggest that child bottom-battering instills virtue.

I'm not talking corporal punishment. But thank you for the extremist view point. Thus is whom I posted for.
